Mount Kilimanjaro
Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano located in Kilimanjaro Region of Tanzania. It has three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest single free-standing mountain above sea level in the world: 5,895 m (19,341 ft.) and about 4,900 m (16,100 ft.) above its plateau base. It is the highest volcano in Africa and the Eastern Hemisphere.
The reason for Alan Lipa wanting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro was hopefully to achieve a record, in being the oldest man at 77 years old to conquer “The Northern Circuit” of Kilimanjaro.
Alan's plan is to do the climb in May 2024

The Canol Trail
The Canol Heritage Trail is a 350-kilometre-long (220 mi) trail running from Norman Wells, Northwest Territories, through the Mackenzie Mountains, to the Yukon border. Because of its remoteness, length and river crossings it is considered one of the most challenging trails in Canada.
The Canol Trail is the longest, toughest hiking trail in North America, cutting a path through the world’s last great mountain range. It follows the footsteps of history, where hardened men performed an even harder mission.
All going well Alan Lipa should be Bike Packing the Canol Trail in July 2025
Mount Fuji

The iconic peak, which has inspired Japanese art and literature for centuries, is both Japan’s highest and most famous mountain. The height of Mount Fuji is 12.390 feet (3776 meters) and there are different ways to climb it.
The ascent to the summit of Mount Fuji does not pose any major difficulties regarding climbing skills. Only at some points the terrain is rather steep and rocky. Abundant signs along the trail warn the hikers of other minor problems such as sudden wind gusts and falling rocks. However, the main challenge of the climb is the fact that it is very long and strenuous and the air gets notably thinner as you gain altitude.
Most people try to time their ascent in order to witness the sunrise from the summit. Also, the chances of the mountain being free of clouds are highest during the early morning hours.
The recommended way of doing this, is to climb to a mountain hut around the 7th or 8th station on the first day and spend some hours sleeping there before continuing to the summit early on the second day. Sunrise in summer is as early as 4:30am to 5:00am. Our plan is to climb Mount Fuji
in August 2025.

Mountain Gorilla
Come on and join me in visiting the Mountain Gorillas at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda, during the month of January 2026. We first track and follow the chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park.
Then we meet the gorillas in Bwindi Forest. Coming face to face with mountain gorillas in their natural habitat which is one of the most powerful and humbling wildlife encounters you will ever have. One can always spot trekkers who are returning from having been with the gorillas: Even the strong and silent types with tears in their eyes, are grinning and chattering like birds.
Filled with the most breathtaking experience of meeting the gorillas we then enjoy forest walks through Kibale Forest and Bwindi, visit the Batwa community, and explore the Bigodi Wetlands of Kibale.

Sandboarding in Namibia
Swakopmund is a tourist-friendly resort town located in the north-western coast of Namibia and the most beloved spot by sandboarders in the country.
The deserts of Namibia are home to some of the highest sand dunes in the entire world.
The sport of sandboarding is practiced on the sand dunes near Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, whereas the dunes of Sossuvlei are popular with desert hikers and climbers.
Namibia is at present the only country in the world where sandboarding has been popularized thanks to the efforts of German-born resident Henrik May, who professionally operates dune skiing in the Namib Desert and entered history by sand skiing on the dunes between Swakopmund and Walvisbay at 92.12 km/hour in 2010.
Alan Lipa plans to sand board in Namibia during the month of May 2026
